West End Theatre

I do love musicals. So, West End is like heaven for me when I’m in London. This area of the city has many theaters with wonderful architecture where great theatrical productions with a really high standard of quality are staged. That is why West End Theatre became such a popular tourist attraction in London. It has developed a long history of spectacular musicals over time and it’s so good as New York’s Broadway in my opinion. In addition to the musicals, West End works also include classic, middle-brow plays and comedy performances. Some musicals please so much the public that they end up being displayed for many years. The longest-running West End shows that are still in theaters currently are The Mousetrap (1952), Les Misérables (1985), The Phantom of the Opera (1986), The Woman in Black (1988), Mamma Mia! (1999) and The Lion King (1999). If you have a short time in London, you should try to watch at least one musical for the experience.
