Palau de la Música Catalana

Barcelona is a city that has a strong cultural and artistic vein. The options for shows and exhibitions are huge, especially during the summer. Regarding the music scene, the Palace of Catalan Music (Palau de la música Catalana in Catalan) plays an important role in the city life. It’s considered one of the most important concert halls of the world and offers a wide variety of shows. In addition to the musical aspect, we can also appreciate a unique architecture in this place, which is one of the finest examples of Catalan modernism and was designed by the architect Lluís Domenech i Montaner. The facade of the building is already amazing, but it gets even better with the details of the interior decoration when we go inside. The construction was built in the beginning of the 20th century and was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997. In addition to the shows, the Palau de la Música use its space to hold a series of social and business events. It’s open to the public for guided tours every morning, but the experience of watching a show at the Palau de la Música Catalana is just wonderful and totally worth it. I would strongly recommend to include a show there on your schedule while you’re in Barcelona.
