Jardin du Palais Royal

Jardin du Palais Royal is a place that I really love in Paris. Nearby the Louvre, it still remains unknown by many people due to its discreet entrance and the fact that it’s hidden between the walls of the Palais Royal. On weekdays, it’s usually very calm and there are few people sitting on the benches chatting or reading books amidst the tranquility of the place. On weekends, it’s much more alive with families that take the children to play there. It’s also a great place for picnic in Paris. Besides, it offers great shopping options in the stores that are located under the arcades. Among them, there’s a shop of the Swedish brand Acne Studios and another one of the Belgian Delvaux (known being the oldest luxury company specializing in leather goods in the world). For the fashion lovers, there are also vintage shops where you can find true rarities of iconic French luxury brands produced in past decades. On site, we also have the Michelin starred restaurant Le Grand Vefour which opened in 1784 and was already attended by Napoleon Bonaparte and Victor Hugo throughout its history. Another highlight is the small Café Kitsuné that has gained fame on social networks in recent times as one of the best spots for coffee in Paris. The black and white striped columns that we see at the entrance have already become a signature of this place. If you’ve been following the famous fashion bloggers on Instagram, you probably have already seen that these columns are often used as setting for their outfit pictures during Paris Fashion Week. In every season, the garden is transformed into something different. As it’s expected, the spring and autumn are the most beautiful times to visit it!
