Pont Neuf

Though the meaning of its name is “new bridge”, Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine. Its architecture is quite beautiful and it’s a fundamental element to compose the amazing view of the Île de la Cité that we can appreciate from Pont des Arts. Actually, Pont Neuf stands by the western point of the Île de la Cité and it’s an important connecting point in the city. In the past, the island in the middle of the Seine used to be the heart of the city and the Pont Neuf was one of the most lively places in the medieval Paris. Nowadays, we have wonderful views of the the river Seine from the bridge and it’s really nice to go there to take pictures, especially during the sun set. The place is also quite attended by tourists for being so close to Notre Dame Cathedral and other important attractions of Paris.
