Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace has been the official home of British kings and queens since 1837. Queen Victoria was the first monarch to reside at Buckingham Palace. She moved to the palace upon her accession to the throne and, since then, the place became a symbol and home of the British monarchy. Nowadays, it’s one of the last remaining working Royal Palaces in the world. Since 2009 the palace is also open to the public during the summer, with changing temporary exhibitions arranged in some of the principal rooms. The building is located in the central area of London close to the Green Park and it’s definitely a must-go for anyone visiting London for the first time.
