This is the area of town known as Nyhavn that translating means “New Port”. Indeed, it’s the main postcard of the city and is probably where you will spend much of your time in the city. The area dates back to the 17th century and became a place of little value in the early 20th century, but it turned slowly in an amazing entertainment space it is today with a number of popular restaurants and taverns. In some spots of the port, there’re restaurants in the open which are great places to watch people walking on a sunny day and sample fish and seafood for which Scandinavia is famous. Nyhavn is also a great place to just walk and relax amid the street performers, live music and designers. Take a look at some of the classic boats that stay to fill your time is also a great idea. An interesting curiosity is that the famous author of fairy tales Hans Christian Andersen once lived in this area.
